Hello, I’m here to share again 🙂
I absolutely LOVE D.I.Y beauty products because I know exactly what ingredients are going into my ‘product’ and how they can benefit my skin. Also it’s just great fun mixing random things together I suppose..
Anyway, here is a super easy, super quick and SUPER EFFECTIVE body scrub recipe. I am such a huge fan of this, firstly because it only involves TWO ingredients and secondly it really works! Now, just like everything else, I’m pretty sure it’s out there on the internet somewhere, but I would just like to say that I put this together on my own randomly just one day in the kitchen without looking it up just because I though the two ingredients would be great together and I had such dry horrible hands that seriously needed sorting out.
Okay so here is what you will need:
COCONUT OIL (Keep it cool and solid) & BROWN SUGAR (Any kind will do)
I used about 2 teaspoons of each but you can adjust the amounts depending on how ‘scrubby’ you need it to be – keep in mind that a little does go a long way with this.
All you have to do next is mix the two ingredients together (use a spoon because you don’t want to melt to coconut oil) and voila! There you have your amazing scrub. It should look a little something like this.
It is quite a coarse scrub though so be careful if you have sensitive skin. You can always use a little less sugar if you prefer. I like to use this mainly on my hands and feet (sometimes knees and elbows too), but you can use it all over (except the face). It works a treat getting rid of horrible hard/flaky skin and any dryness because the coconut oil is extremely nourishing and works to soften the dry skin whilst the sugar obviously buffs it away. Once its all been rinsed off, you probably won’t even feel the need to moisturise because the coconut oil’s done that for you. It’s open to experiment with as well, so you can add your own ingredients to customise it to suit your needs, for example, you can add a teaspoon of coffee granules and use on your legs and bum for tackling cellulite.
If you do decide to give it a go, share your experiences with me! I’d love to hear from you.
Take care & keep smiling!
