Happy New Year!!
Is it even acceptable to say that on the 10th of January!? I know I have been quite behind with my blogging recently and the fact that I wasn’t really getting as much done as I would’ve liked was making me feel a bit miserable and de-motivated. I also felt a bit rubbish because I wasn’t as excited about the new year as I thought I’d be. ANYWAYS I have decided that it’s now time to pull up my big girl pants and get on with it – time waits for no one!
So, I know the internet/social media/blog world is now filled to the brim with ‘2018 goals’ and ‘how to achieve your goals this year’ types of posts. I do love those types of posts as they can be quite motivating, but I’m just not the type of person that enjoys cliché activities like making new years resolutions. Of course I do have certain things that I would like to accomplish this year and certain things I would like to improve about myself but I believe that if I work hard and focus, these things will happen naturally. I like to take everyday as it comes because in reality, most days all I really have time for is cooking and laundry and on days like those I don’t want to beat myself up about not being able to accomplish something on my ‘goals’ list. My main focus for the coming year is to put myself first and hopefully turn this behavior into a life long habit.
My other super important aim for 2018 is my blog and Instagram. I am hoping to really grow over this year and hopefully turn this teeny tiny dream of mine into something that I can do as a full time job! I have lots of things planned so watch this space! I am yet to figure out exactly how I’m going to turn my ideas into a reality but for now I’m just taking baby steps forward. Beauty has forever been a passion of mine and I don’t want to even breathe in the direction of a different career path! I have decided that it’s either Beauty or nothing for me, so I guess I have no other option but to succeed!
Apart from these things, I have a few personal goals for the year, nothing too huge so hopefully I’ll manage to accomplish them. I also just want to be present for my daughters as they are just growing up way too fast! Safiyyah will be 1 on the 1st of February and Eiliyah will be 4 on the 25th of March!!!! I don’t know whether to laugh or cry because I’m certainly starting to feel old!
New beginnings are always exciting and scary for me at the same time because I know that there’s so many positive things to look forward to but there are also things that happen that are beyond our control. I suppose it’s always going to be a “hope for the best, be prepared for the worst” kind of situation with many things, but apart from all that, I think we’re all good!
I know this has been a bit of a random post but I didn’t want to just start a new year on my blog from out of the blue with product posts etc. so, I hope you enjoyed reading my little ramble! Is there anything that you want to accomplish this year? I’d love to know. I always love hearing from followers/people I follow I’m still amazed at the fact that there are people out there that are genuinely interested in my content! I’m always up for a chat and if you’re feeling extra friendly then you can also follow me over on my Instagram.
Love, Taslima xx
